Vegan wine dispenses with the use of all proteins derived from animal products, which, in conventional winemaking, are commonly used, albeit in tiny quantities no tongue could detect, for the fining and clarification of wines. Purist winemakers and traditionalists are increasingly opting for vegan wines, as they are in line with the ethos of "minimal human intervention".
